I've lived in the country for most of my adult life and am fascinated by 'old technologies' that allowed the individual freedom to create one's own survival. Today I ran across a this book in a description of how to make a home-made water filter. With all my knowledge I was stunned by the simplicity and was aware of the effectiveness of the device. I've been using Berkey filters for many years and have studied contemporary commercial devices. If anyone is interested you can read or download this fascinating book here...

 A very wordy book, but especially entertaining - even informative - because of all those words!
The descriptions and helpful tips transport the reader to the era of their grandparents' parents. 8)

From a section about beds and (probably) unintended humor about public clothing:
"... aged persons require much more covering than those in middle life." p.58

Copy the free PDF to an eBook reader for everyday reading! ;)
You'll want to keep an extra eBook in your TP parlor.
