Is 11:11 coordinates?

I'm a big fan of scifi "end of the world" types of movies, and I love the new Nic Cage movie "The Knowing."

You know how those other sets of numbers end up being coordinates? And the EE coordinates were where they were supposed to go for safety - to be taken by the whisper people? That made me wonder if 11:11 is a set of coordinates.

When I got home from the theater I entered them as coordinates into Google Maps and it mapped to a place nearly in the center of Africa. Africa is interestingly the origin of all humans alive today. Scientists have studied the mitrochondrial DNA of humans, which is only inherited from your mother, and can see that we all alive today share a common female ancestor in Africa.

I just thought that was neat.

I wonder if we're all meant to come together somehow, led by these numbers. Kind of like when in "Close Encounters" various people kept dreaming and envisioning the volcano-looking like mountain thingy and didn't understand the significance.

It is my belief, however, that the numbers aren't to be taken literally. I think they "bring us together" metaphorically. The fact that they, when used as coordinates, point to central Africa where our shared "mother" lived, can remind us that we are ALL ONE.

Interesting theory, I wouldn't mind a trip to Africa !!

I will have to add that movie to my list of "to see" movies, I like Nic Cage.

I think you are right, the numbers do bring us together, but it is much cheaper to come 'here' than to travel to Africa

Interesting theory. I'm a sci-fi fan as well. Makes me wonder about the sequence 4 8 15 16 23 42 in Lost. I'm sure this has been discussed, but could they be the coordinates of the island? Its a lot of numbers, so maybe it includes a time or something. Any Losties wanna help me out on this?
