Well its true the mind often cannot understand the heart, but I think the idea that the heart (ergo soul) uses logic is very faulty. Exactly how the soul works is hard to fathom, but I do claim that for 24 hours I used my soul "mind" and not my material mind. And it was extremely unsettling, in fact I thought I had lost my sanity.

In my case I prayed deeply for "healing". Now I rather wish I had known what was happening and just gone with the flow.

Dear Geoff,
That's an amazing experience, thanks for sharing!

In my case, it was wonderful at first and I felt so much love, it was overwhelming. This was years ago when I practised yoga and meditated on a regular basis.

I can totally relate to what you are saying here:

I also sensed a lot of things, such as I believed I could now sense what people who I have a troubled relationship with, really think of me. .... I also seemed to accurately sense the moods that people projected, and this included folks who were remote.
Then I had an experience of knowing.

I think my issues started when I went from experiencing all this without judgement and the interference of my ego to wanting to have full control. It all became a mess and I have not recovered. The only thing that helps is stillness meditation and sleep. Some days it can get real ugly...... So praying for healing sounds like a very good idea.
