It really makes you think doesn't it?
Does this part sound familiar?
Kinship with all creatures of the earth, sky and water was a real and active principle. In the animal and bird world there existed a brotherly feeling that kept the Lakota safe among them. And so close did some of the Lakotas come to their feathered and furred friends that in true brotherhood they spoke a common tongue.
We have heard something like this before from the book, "Kinship With All Life" . This isn't the first time this point has been reinforced.
Over and over again, truly. Can you imagine what great joy this would add to life?

I've enjoyed looking into the life of this amazing man who was at the forefront of a Progressive movement to change government policy towards Native Americans.

Luther Standing Bear died of the flu at the age of 71 on February 20, 1939 in Huntington California while on the set of the movie “Union Pacific.
