HappyRain

I live in the central coast of California. We've been beset with a drought for several years. In the last few weeks we've had good old fashioned storms that give us hope that the drought may be ameliorated this year. We've already had more rain than all of last year and this is normally the beginning of our rainy season. Anyway I wanted an emoticon image to add to an email expressing my happiness with the rain. All the rain emojis were unhappy so I made a HappyRain. Then I thought of happyrain here in the forum.

That is good news! We're joining you with the storms and have now had storms five days in a row. We certainly haven't been as dry as you guys over there, Welles, but we have had weeks of drought that were quickly drying out the weaker vegetation in this sandy soil environment. But with those first rains I could have danced in the middle of the yard if it wasn't for the dangerous lightening. So your Happy rain emoticon is right on target for me! :bana:

Hi Eric,

This might be a bit better as an avatar for the forum. It has a transparent background so it will work on any colored background. Like so...

Hey Eric,

I reformatted the PNG so it is under the size limit and still transparent. The first time I'd just used PNG-24 which is my usual habit. After seeing that the Avatar File size was 10.23K I resaved it as a PNG-8 with 256 colors and transparency with a matte color that was the darker shade of blue found in the forum topics. Blah blah. The end result is a transparent version that will work with the forum file size limitations. Sorry I didn't check to begin with.

So here it is again, under 8K (4,713 bytes actually but who's counting?)
