Rare view of Earth

Post by I-AM »

Wow. Just have to share this.

The Chinese scientists recently launched an unmanned spacecraft called Chang'e 5-T1. It went past the moon, bounced back and safely landed on Earth a few days later.

Here is a photo it took when it was traveling behind the moon (from our vantage point).

This is a real photo. No photo editing whatsoever. We can even see some moon surface that we can never see from Earth because the moon spins at the same rate as it revolves around the Earth.

Unbelievable how small our planet is from space. To us, it may look "gianourmous" but in reality it is just a tiny speck lost in the vastness of space... :baby

Isn't it a beautiful little planet! How did we get so lucky to hale from this sphere? :sunflower: The moon is rather cool too isn't it? I would have loved to have been an astronaut when I was a kid. (grew up in the Apollo age)
But oh well we can all be astronauts when we mediate, eh? :D
Thanks for posting the photo Robert! Love it!
love,
Sandy

Robert,
Thank you for sharing this photo. Even though the Earth is further away, it looks so alive! The moon looks... lonely.

I sat out in the yard last night and just enjoyed the full moon. I have always sensed the energy from the sun but haven't paid so much attention to the beautiful moon in years.( I'm blaming the aggressive Australian Mosquitos. ) Yet last night when I closed my eyes and opened myself to whatever came...I felt the moonbeams just as I do the sun and felt so at peace. ( I suppose actually they maybe one in the same though as the moon is reflecting the sun. But still a sense of well being carried me throughout the night. It was lovely being at peace with the universe )

Dear Sandy,
Although I love to see the shining sun, especially the sunrises, I've always been a moon baby. :loves :baby I appreciate the visual you gave us with your words!

Thank you,
Kim
