text message from 1?

i recieved a text message, you usually recieve messages from a 7 digit phone number precede by the area code
but this time the phone number it was sent from was 1, yes just the number 1 as in just one number and not a seven digit
it was a mms message but when i went to download/retrieve it wouldnt let me
also it was sent i dont recall or 6:48 pm and expired at 6:48 so it was expired before i opened it
any idea?
