I had to laugh at Lloyds description of the station wagon trip to the Jersey Beaches. I had my own southern version of that, traveling from East Tennessee to Myrtle Beach South Carolina nearly every summer for family vacations. We always camped every year and so every inch of that station wagon was crammed full of kids and camping gear...There was nothing like rushing into that cold surf the first day though!
And smelling the salt in the air...
I still appreciate that even though I am, like Lloyd, living close to one of Australia's beautiful and unspoiled beaches. You just never know where you'll wind up... I, of course operate under the "grass is always greener syndrome"
and miss the cold and the snow of the North Eastern US. Crazy huh?
...and Lloyd, I think that by you fixing that lasagne you are giving more than just a dish and a meal. It is far more than that. When I think of those times when I have been in grief and a recipient of someone's heart-baked dish...It carried so much more that filling the stomachs need. It felt kind of like a long talk and a hug...well had the same effect on me anyway. These little things we do for each other echo what's inside. You Lloyd are a dear man...and so whatever you do for the well being of others is an outward extension of you... much needed, much appreciated...and long remembered during the healing process.
I hope you keep doing what you do so well!

I hope it all works out beautifully for you and you get to do what you love to do to the benefit of others. We have some pretty good photographers on this board. Roxiedog has shared some of his gorgeous work, I think, somewhere in the pages of the Misc. forum. And I-Am, Robert, too, is a fabulous photographer sharing his sking and vacation pictures and helping us all feel connected in the far flung areas of the world. I admire the gift that inspires artists and photgraphers... They can lift us, inspire us, and help us to recognize a need and care about others in the world community. This is something we often take for granted in the modern world. It's hard to imagine a world before camera's and film isn't it?
