Hello sweet Thalia,,, :hithere
Wow, I think I'm excited for you too.. :bana: :bana:

so you are all leaving by boat on Monday night????

where does the boat leave from?????

since you are going to Corsica,,,,I think you will be 'sailing the Mediterranean'.....what a trip to be able to take....I hope you write in your journal every day,,,,,then when you get to a computer,,,you'll have notes to be able to write to us about...

I'm afraid I'm one who doesn't like spiders very much either,,,even though they are very helpful creatures.....

I was spring cleaning a cupboard once for my gramma,,,,down on my hands and knees and these little black spiders kept jumping out at me,,,
I was such a fraidy cat,,,they made me cry,,,,,but that was a long time ago....now it's not the little ones that scare me,,,,just the big ones...
when i walk in the woods,,,I take this along.. :sword:

Hope you have a wonderful trip and enjoy every moment...

lots of love

Have a good day Thalia *hugs*

Dear Thalia,

My husband's grandpa used to say "don't ever kill a spider". He told us that spiders eat the little buggers that bite us. HAHA!

Hello everyone,

Heather, Oh those raccoons are very clever aren't they? We tried everything years ago to keep them out of our garbage cans finally bought those new fangled rolly bins with the locking top and that stopped their theiving ways! They are comical to watch though. ( If it isn't your bin their getting into. )

Hi Thals, I like spiders too but prefer them to stay off me if possible. I usually do a PP :sword: (just to sweep them aside, of course) if walking off the path in a forest ...Lilly, I think I have a picture of the large Huntsman we found in our bedroom not too long ago. They are formidable looking aren't they? If I can find it, I will try to figure out how to post it on the thread so everyone can see what they look like. Oh I would have just died a thousand deaths if one of those had surprised me like that!!! :pale: Oh darn, I just had a thought, the photo is probably on my old computer which is at the shop...Hope our computer guy hasn't forgotten us. :?
At least your fears of spiders are based on something reasonable, PP, since some spiders are toxic and even deadly....I have this very silly outright fear of roaches! And they don't bite or anything! ...just nasty little scurrying things that make my skin crawl! ...I have tried to look at them as," All God's creatures great and small..the good Lord Jesus loves them all" kind of thing... but they just make me crazy! :shaking2: Luckily we just see the odd one every once in awhile or I'd be sleeping in the car!
Reba, what your husband's grandpa said made lots of sense...and now that I think about it, we have seen more bugs in the house since we sent that giant Huntsman into the next realm. sort of serves us right I suppose. :( I do feel bad about that now...Hee wasn't hurting us... just startled and scared us. I don't think it will happen again. Maybe I have learned something here. :)

Love,
Sandy

Oh I don't know Sandy,,,,

I'm afraid in my spider panic, I likely would have sent him off to the next realm too,,,,,and said a very apologetic "I'm sorry",,,while I scream as I'm 'doing it'.....

here's a spider story for you,,,,,(I shudder still, thinking about it),,,

Allan and I had just been married,,,and he had shipped out for a Far East Cruise....(he was gone 3 months that time)....we had joined our two single dwellings into one apartment on a ground floor,,,with nice bushes hanging over the balcony....

one night I was sitting at the farthest possible position away from these windows,,,and i was reading,,,when I caught a movement near the windows on the floor..... OMG....I couldn't believe it....this spider's body had to be the size of a quarter,,,and legs to match......OMG,,,what am I going to do.....I couldn't go to bed knowing it was in the apartment....I couldn't even think of trying to catch it and pitch it outside....so my last resort,,,,,I picked up one of allans big boots,,,,,,,,and 'screamed',,,I'm sorry!!!!!  actually, I was really quite upset for some time...

so you know what happened, the planet was minus one humongous spider......

Yes I do believe in loving all God's creatures,,,,big and small,,,,but this was a case of flight or fight......my survival instinct took over....after all, I wasn't leaving my apartment,,,,,and would have had to....it was me or it!

and here I live out in the woods,,,, (and they're all around me  )
but we have a deal.....they stay outside and they stay alive....and when I go out and run into a web,,,, they let me pass,,,,,I just move them over with that big stick,,,,,and shiver,,,,but hey,,,,I'm in their space...

Hey Gypsie......you still take tops with that Shark picture though....
where are you little lady????

love to everyone,,

Hi Everyone,

Good to hear I'm not the only one who experiences conflicting emotions about killing insects. I'm a Buddhist at heart when it comes to God's creatures. When ants are trailing into my kitchen sink I don't like it but I have to get rid of them. I do try to catch and release spiders and crickets but sometimes they die or get injured in the process. The best way I have found to do this is to capture them under a glass and then slip a piece of paper underneath.

Much love,

Reba

Hi pp,
My partner bought a dvd last night at the supermarket called The Golden Compass, it was fantastic, except I fell asleep half way through as did my grandaughter..........Nicole Kidman stars in it.....what a great movie........it's very other worldly....Will have to watch it again...everyone has an animal with them, which can shape shift into some other animal or creature.....cat to bird to butterfly...monkey......
It's about a little girl who is destined to hold the fate of the world in her hands.....in a parallel world where witches soar the skies and Bears rule the frozen North. Someone else may have mentioned this movie....it really is good and the animation is wonderful. It's about courage against all odds.
I'll have to watch it during the day or not too late like last night...
Sometimes I've missed the very ending of a film from dozing off when it's late.......which is ridiculous.....Lol
Love lilly xxxx :sunny:

Oh Lilly,

from spiders to witches flying and bears ruling the frozen north,,,

neither of which sounds too far from reality either

I'd like to see it,,,,so maybe it'll come across my path,,,soon...

I don't mind falling asleep at the end of movies if they're on tape or DVD, probably why it happens,,,,I know I'll see the end eventually,

Cards tonight,,,,but probably only 3 of us not the usual 5, it makes for a very different game....

My niece and her boyfriend are heading to my place,,,visiting along the way,,,,so by Monday I'll have a housefull,,,,as my sister and her husband will come up also,,,,and we'll see them off on their bike journey...on Tues a.m. They are setting off to bicycle across Canada.....and plan to get to Newfoundland somewhere around late Sep, early Oct...

all the power and protection to them....(their mothers are having a fit).
but hey, they're all growed up now (30's),,,so what can they say!!!!

I say, if it's your dream, follow it....

Hi pp,
Sounds exciting to cycle across Canada, good on them....makes me feel all sparked up to do something myself....nothing as challenging as that though.....a walk in the mountains without getting lost....
Playing cards...haven't done that for years and only simple games...switch or snap........that's up my alley. Anything else and it's completely a miracle that I win......wouldn't have a clue....
Have a good time with your family visiting......it's good to get together isn't it.
Love lilly xxxxxx

Oh dear, I'm gonna have to censor this part of the thread from my girls.

Honest! They're so gentle and careful with spiders in the bath. I have to put a trail of bog roll in a bath or sink for the spider to make its way back out.
Thalia rescued a snake today. First one coming out of its hideaway and it came across Thalia. Mind, I thing it was quite happy because there were no poisonings or ill-effects.
She presented me with a surprise this avo. I suspected as much, till she opened her hand and revealed the most humungous sized spider. The body was about the size of an average sized woman's palm.
I love the sound of insects in hot climates. Crickets, grasshoppers, cicadas, frogs, you name it...I love it! Flies? Well, they do help the environment, unlike those parasites Mozzies and leeches! What good are those creatures to the planet? Oh well! I'm sure Nebadonia would be happy to reprimand me, but I will always hate mozzies and leeches. (At least flies get rid of rubbish!!)
Talking rubbish again...Pet XXX

Hi Lilly,,,
yes it is good to see them,,,,but I think I'll be in for a good dry spell after this,,,,at least until my sister and her husband comes out in august to go sailing,,,,we usually get to go out for a day with them,,,and cruise up and down the strait,,,,,sometimes pop into an island or two,,,,

I got spoiled with two weddings last year,,,,,but this young cycling couple are planning theirs soon,,,,,they were even talking about doing it in Nfld after arriving there,,,,but we're all hoping they'll come back home where everyone is or near to Calgary....not the other end of the country...

Allan wouldn't be able to go,,,,and I said I'd only go if I could fly standby.
so we'll see...

Well, just got my phone call to go play cards,,,,so now it's get ready, take the dog out,,,,and we'll start early tonight, and get another game in maybe....with 3 of us we end up having 17 cards in our hands,,so I better find my card holder

then I'll have Sat and Sun to get the house and bedding in order...

see ya..

oh, I almost forgot,,,,I took hummingbird pictures this am and wanted to put up a new avi,,,,so here it comes.

Hello everyone,

PP, it's good to have friends and family stay over isn't it? Are you still going to be able to do the last Eckhart Tolle lesson on Monday? I know you are looking forward to it. The thread you began on 'A New Earth' was lovely..so much time and thought have gone into it. Thank you PP for all you do on the message board. :love You have been a tireless worker for Michael.."Good on you mate!" Okay Lilly and gypsie..Be honest...did that sound at all like an authentic Aussie? ... probably not..sigh...I'll keep working on it. :)

Can't wait to hear how the house hunting went Gypsie! Any good possibilities this trip? :finger:

Hi Gypsie and Sandy,
The boating accident was a terrible tragedy just near Taronga Park, Sandy, quite a few people were killed, some of them from Balmain. Prayers for them and their families, how terrible. Gypsie, I was at the Unity Hotel on Monday night...my friend just ran in to use the ladies....we went to a healing meditation just up the road from there. One of the young barmaids from there was killed.... Godbless them all.
