Re: George's birthday
Hi Geoff,
Good to see your note.
I went out, came back, and fell asleep, would you believe.
Thanks for remembering my birthday . . . long ago.
Cheers . . .
George.

George,
Since you're the "elected" head of the 1111 Progress Group,
this popular birthday greeting seems appropriate and ageless:

More about birthday celebration ...
Re: https://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2011/01/ ... ons-start/
"Oct. 5 is considered to be the most common birthday in the United States. The reason is pretty obvious:
go back 9 months, and you’ll find a conception date of New Year’s Eve."
Who knew?! (since this is almost never practiced at birthday parties):
"They (Germans) put candles on tortes for 'kinderfeste,' one for each year of life,
along with some extras to signify upcoming years."
But once an adult, the extras are not easily noticed ...
and too many candles are not necessarily glad tidings.

Re: George's birthday
Morning meditation about a birthday ...
If a unique soul comes into existence at (or just after mortal birth),
then that soul, the real identity of a mortal, has a starting date
... that (potentially) continues into eternity.
So, a "star date" may be a more accurate birth date!
To calculate a Star Trek star date:
https://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-Stardates
"Stardates are usually quoted to two decimal places."
... but quote more decimal places
to let others know if you're fond of Pi.
Re: http://www.hillschmidt.de/gbr/sternenzeit.htm
According to this online calculator, I'm between
-377000.0000000000 and -376000.0019025874

Who knew
Counting candles is a birthday tradition rarely continued,
but counting the one just added is acceptable ...
if accompanied by a song and dance.

Re: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday
"birthdays in the United States are quite evenly distributed for the most part, but there tend to be more births in September and October.
"However, it appears the holidays have more of an effect on birth rates than the winter"
"What did Santa bring you last year?" A baby! ... but late delivery.

That s so cool!
I am 59 years 1 month and 20 days, or 21602 days old, or 518448 hours old and 31106880 minutes. LOL

Re: George's birthday
New birthday tradition for adults:
Instead of the exact number of candles on your cake,
use one bigger candle for every 10,000 days
and a regular candle for every 1,000 days.
Sandy, on your next birthday, you get two bigger candles and one regular candle
... and you stay the same candle age for several birthdays (re: 1,000 / 365).

"Ancient Romans were the first to celebrate birthdays for the common man (but just the men)."
Maybe that's why upright candles were added for masculine symbolism
... then women invented "burning the candle at both ends" critique.
